Privacy policy

Tribe2Home Pty Ltd (ABN 52 853 913 598) runs the Tribe2Home platform. We take your privacy seriously, and we have written this policy to explain it in plain language. No jargon, no fine print games.

This policy covers how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information, and the control you have over it. It applies to everyone who uses Tribe2Home: participants, service providers, support coordinators, family members, and guardians.

1. The short version

You are in control of your information. We only collect what we need to help you find compatible housemates and homes. We never share your profile with service providers or anyone else without your clear consent. We never sell your data.

2. What we collect

Depending on how you use Tribe2Home, we may collect:

• Information you give us, such as your name, contact details, date of birth, the area you want to
live in, your housing preferences, lifestyle and interests, and what you are looking for in a home
and housemates.
• Sensitive information, such as details about your disability, support needs, or NDIS plan, where
you choose to share it. Under Australian privacy law this is sensitive information and gets extra
protection. We only collect it with your explicit consent, and only to help connect you with
compatible housemates, homes, and service providers.
• Information about people you support. If you are a support coordinator, family member, or
guardian acting for a participant, you may give us their information. You must have the authority
and consent to do so.
• Information we collect automatically, such as how you use the platform, your device, and general
location. We use cookies and similar tools for this. See section 10 below.
• Service provider information. If you are a SIL or SDA service provider, we collect your
organisation details, properties, vacancies, and the information needed to verify and onboard
you.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to connect you with compatible housemates, tribes, homes, and service providers; to run and improve the platform; to verify service providers and keep the community safe; to communicate with you about your account and the service; and to meet our legal and NDIS related obligations.

4. How compatibility works

Tribe2Home uses a mix of technology, including AI assisted models, and human compatibility specialists to suggest compatible housemates, tribes, and homes. These suggestions are based on the preferences and information you provide. They are suggestions only. You always decide who you connect with and whether to take things further. A suggestion is never a decision made for you.

5. Who can see your information

You decide. Your profile is not visible to service providers or other users unless you choose to share it or connect. You control what you share and with whom, and you can change this at any time.

We may share your information with:

• Other users you choose to connect or share with, such as potential housemates and tribes.
• Service providers, the SIL and SDA organisations on the platform, when you choose to connect
with one. They only see the information you choose to share, and we never introduce you to a
service provider without your consent.
• Suppliers who help us run Tribe2Home, such as our hosting and security partners [confirm list,
e.g. AWS, Cloudflare], under strict confidentiality.
• Authorities or third parties where the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not pass your details to service providers without your consent.

6. Where your information is stored

We store your information using secure infrastructure and we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard consistent with Australian privacy law.

7. How we keep it safe

We use security tools and practices from leading technology companies along with internal processes to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. No system is ever completely secure, but we work hard to keep yours protected.

If a data breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you have an account, and for [confirm period] after you close it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.

9. Your rights

You can:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
• Withdraw your consent at any time.
• Close your account.
• Make a complaint.

10. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the platform working, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings or our cookie settings tool. Turning some off may affect how the platform works.

11. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first at [privacy@tribe2home.com.au]. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will let you know. The latest version will always be on this page.
